Some of you might've seen that previously, it is on the hub. I put that in because I am coding the game from scratch at this point and it seems I have come across a terrible glitch once again. This terrible glitch I am currently waiting for Argon to ask for help, and ultimately if he doesn't know we will consult the forum. But, as we wait for NFF to come up please wait shortly. I'll be sure to put in some new stuff so you guys don't feel cheated. But that's not what this topic is about. Warning: Be prepared to read a large topic. Note:: If you don't want to read the in-between paragraphs, just transition all the way down to the next bold. If anyone hasn't realized it already, NFF is slowly trying to branch off into its own game outside of the other NFF BYOND games and rips. We are trying to give it a unique system that's realistic and yet different to the other BYOND games. The things we are countered with normally are along the lines of things such as balance and ect, but that isn't our main concern. It's a top concern, but not our main one. I've been thinking lately, what could we do with NFF to turn it into an amazing game? And I thought of something. So now, considering we are all originally NFF players I would of course need your approvals of these ideas on where to start and where to go. Anyways, I'll explain. What if NFF was a completely new game? Amazing in design, and completely made from scratch. Not a rip in any way. With interesting systems that are simple and easy to play with everyone. But first of all, although I love the name NFF, I noticed this a while ago and we wouldn't neccasairly be accepted by many of the other games. With me and Argon starting a new team, I thought that we need to have a reputation for creating simply fun games bring more people to BYOND. I want to be able to reach to outside BYOND players even, so that this game not only is an attraction to BYOND, the anime guild, but also to even fellow BYOND players. And after doing so, we could just play the game for the sake of fun. But NFF was originally a rip which a lot of people hated it for. Although we are the most edited/changed rip, we were still a rip. So with a new custom game, I looked around BYOND to see if any names were taken a while back. And apparently it's free. Originally before I started coding for NFF and Faith was given owner, I started a project on a Naruto game. The game was going to consist completely in a war-based game of ninja tactics, that took place in the Ninja wars and everyone faught based off of Clans and their family development or Clan Development. Now the idea for the passive system that was just implanted came from this game. I wanted a game where levels didn't matter and statistics didn't matter because people seem to forget over and over again that no matter who you are, whether your Pain, Madara or Itachi, if you get stabbed by a kunai it's over for you. Of course it's too hard to make it like that, so that's why percentile systems were designed to make things fair and such. But what made this percentile system broken in NFF was the stat limitations. People could train Stats, which hindered balance of the game. So what if we had it more controlled and you could take charge of where your stats go? Well let's go for that. Have control of where your stats go, we can limit down the damage a bit. Taijutsu would reasonably do normal damage for casually everyone except for those in different styles and such now in NFF. That was as we were slowly beginning to transition. The passive system was thought up so that there was training but that it made sense. Previously, when v3 first came Maximo was terribly upset because it didn't have the same training features as the previous NFF. Although I didn't want to transition at the time, he was correct. The old system for WoTS wasn't accurate in general when you look at it. Working at Nin, Gen, Tai? And then caps? And then the new system we had at the beginning of v3, growing up stats through level ups? That was way to GOA. I made it even more GOA when I added in SP and LP. The system went well for a while but it wasn't what I wanted. So I thought of what Max said again a while back and I started discussing these things with some friends, such as Demaru, Kyrie, Dneezy and Sono. Now while doing this I started coding some of these things out thinking of it. What could I do with NFF? The passive system I then one day suggested to see people's response. Everyone said "Ew" except for one person who saw what I meant, Kanisaki. After I explained a bit, people started to say they wouldn't mind and it would've been interesting. Now development of character would lie solely on passive training and Jutsu training. Meaning we could concentrate more towards Creating more jutsu and actually bringing about Dungeons and Regions. Something I really wanted to do, but not fully there. Let's get on to the main point. After this part, this is what I believe I could do with NFF. And I want your open-heartedly opinions on this, be sure to give critism. ![]() I understand what you might be thinking. As I said earlier, the name change is for reasons of hostility toward NFF. I want to come out with a BRAND new look, something that is solely amazing that even BYOND hated would like it. Now what would be so different that would make this game amazing and set it out from the rest? Planned Features: Day And Night System - As you remember, Day and Night was originally in within NFF. But it wasn't that spectacular. At first you couldn't even click through it. Well, I've been experimenting with Day and Night since then and I was able to create 5 different phases of Day. Morning, Day, Dawn, Afternoon, Night. So with that in mind, what if there was a full Day-Night-System that actually affects the players gameplay. Missions you can only take at night/day? Animals and dungeons that are only found during the Dawn and even Kekkai Genkai and other jutsu and ability affected by this. Along with an actual Weather System and Calender, we can make the game go through Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall without editing it every now and then. With the Day and Night, we can have a Shadow system affected by everything that deserves a shadow. With this, we can easily make the game look quite amazing where the shadows disperse and move as it slowly becomes Day to Night. Wouldn't that be interesting? Elevation - Psuedo-3D they call it. Wouldn't that be something fun!? You may think NFF wouldn't be good in 3D, well I agree so too. NFF would suck in 3D, but Elevation is different. If you have ever played Zelda or Pokemon D/P you would understand as you jump from cliff to cliff the difference in elevation despite still a 2D game, where as Zelda can have multiple floors and still be a 2D game. That would be fun, having houses with multiple floors and yet not all that big and space consuming. Walking into buildings and the top just erases instead of actually teleporting inside of it. Along with this, we can implant new things such as Jumping so we can add more tactics into the game. So now Ninja can run up the tree and then Jump on the Branch from Branch to Branch like real ninja. Perform techniques in the air, so that their enemies don't know what's going on. And even jumping to counter attacks. Mission System - The main idea of missions is that every now and then we'd give something along the lines of what we'd call "Storyline missions." Or "Quest Missions." For those who are Missing ninja, they can do favors to affect their Karma while Normal ninja can affect their Karma based off of the mission they're doing. Such as a Mission where you are to knock out an enemy bring him alive or dead and you kill him. Your karma would go down. We could allow reputation in one's village and we could make the NPCs interactive. "Storyline/Quest Missions" would be chain missions that you would randomly get that affect each other, or work more toward as a quest. For example, you take a Chain Mission. This Chain Mission is escorting someone to a bridge. After you escort them to the bridge, you have to help him fix it up. It would affect the world and this Chain Mission would only pop up if that certain bridge is broken, which can be broken any time. So NPCs would be more interactive toward that. The NPCs would then walk to the nearby village, we'd give them a friendship meter with certain villages so they're more likely to go to villages their nation or they trust and as soon as they're inside that village the Chain Mission will pop up and whoever gets it gets it. After they do it, they can get Double the price of the mission cost by completing both or just decide to quit half-way in. Of course, you can still fail your missions but you won't get anywhere. Naruto is supposed to be based completely on missions, just as Shinobi do. Economy - An economical system where every village has economy and money which they can use to upgrade their village. Leaders have control over this and such and can spread over land and have quality. Some revolutionary systems that is is the warfare that can affect the economy where the game's prices and ranges would increase through sheer economy and players can go out and raid dungeons and such and come back and sell it in their villages making their own stores and such simply by buying a house. Even a furnature building where players can buy furnature for all their needs. All things bought would ultimately affect the economy and such. Dungeons And Dragons! - Maybe not actual Dragons, but Dungeons holding once again Interactive NPCs. Still once again, there can Dungeons which require missions and such and a random person could just walk in and kill the NPCs ultimately making you fail the mission but still is a rather interesting setting. Dungeons could be inhabited and caves and all regions. In fact, with a new Organization system based off of economy and guilds and squads, Organizations can take charge over certain Dungeons and have it as their home-base where all members know how to get there. Of course they can set up traps to defend their location. They can use Ninjutsu techniques to make monsters and attacks to keep their places defended and secretive. Gameplay - Can you imagine a full-screen game(can be transitioned down) with a complete HUD system? Along with this complete HUD system with this game is a beautiful sound system that affects everything in the game, from music to adventure. Along with amazing graphics that no one will believe is BYOND! That's something I want to do! And with that amazing full-screen game, completely controlled by easily functional gameplay of the keys, you can move even with your keys and have a funtional mouse system at the bottom of the screen like a DS for extended gameplay in certain fields, including training! Ninja - The ninja elements will be enhanced! There will be identifying chakra through chakra identification. Thus, there will also be the skill of masking one's chakra. There will be smoke bombs, wires will be completed along with a lot of enhancing and interesting variety of weapons. Scrolls will be used for primarily anything, along with Kuchiyose No Jutsu. The combo system will be enhanced for taijutsu users so they can perform more and different kind of combos instead of feeling out there. With jumping and a lot of other things, it will be made to work toward the manga as close as possible in the form of fighting. With the new SkillCard system, we will allow a shortcut that lets you do 1-9, and also allow you to do handsigns if you want a quicker way. Or you could just click it. Inventories will be limited and more realistic, holding more things weighing you down and such. It will no longer be so stat based and time-consuming = strength, but more intelligence nad power = strength. Traps could be set solely dependant on seeing it with your eyes and noticing things that are different which will be the main difference between Jounin and Genin. Like noticing a puddle in the middle of the field. Weapons will be more useful and more accurate. They won't be as spammable because you won't be able to hold as many with such limited inventory unless you want to summon them in, which requires blood. A lot more jutsu will be in, which you can either be taught or search desperately for from a scroll or just raid Dungeons and such for scrolls. It'll be more based through intelligence and preparation warfare combat, instead of the casual, "I'm level 50, you can't kill me." feeling. It's what you guys think in general that is, of course. |

Wow I love these ideas but I thought of something when you said economy like if your village members do a certain amount of missions or get enough money they can buy guards or that shield thing that konoha uses and the kage teaches 4 ninja that they trust to set it up on the four corners of the village. The shields can be disabled if you disable the seals in a certain order, and that would be the beauty of leaving your village you can tell the order for money or attack the village himself. |

All these ideas seem very original and very intricate. It would be a good game when the development of it is completed, whenever that may be.
That kinda sounds like a Fable thing with the whole sword of virtue and Skorm's Bow which you get only after sacrifing people at a certain time. |

The dragon looked almost hungry the way it moved.. it craved battle. "You see... No matter how many times I die..No matter what happens to my body..." Cientren said as the Dragon puppet opened its mouth and bent its head down towards Kanisaki, who was in utter shock of the sheer size of the puppet. "I rise again from the ashes.... I am 'The Phoenix'!" | |

They would affect a lot of the things the Jutsu it self could do and who you'd be able to talk to exactly. Even some dungeons would let only those of pure-heart in. |

I like it, was thinking more of "The Chronicles of Vash" but still, Shinobi Online is good lol. But seems like a lot of work has to be done before the game even gets near this, wish you all good luck. |

Day and night system: Good idea if it doesnt lag the players. Elevation : Not a bad Idea. But I dont really like the roof top disapearing Idea. I'd rather be teleported when entering a house. Missions: Pretty nice. And you can add special items given through these quest. You can also add regular boring missions, and make quest appear randomly after doing a certain amount of those regular missions. Economy : Good Idea. I think that most of village economy gestion should be run through the kage or like you said the village leader. |

For the day and night, the lag was enriched by mainly the transperency actually. If we don't use as much transperency, and just for the day and night it wouldn't affect itself as much. Also, if the map is all just one nicely done together map we'd have to have it such as that. In this way, people can be on the roof of buildings and below them someone is actually there instead of just void. It can be made to look like you're teleporting, of course, by having the outer edges block the outside. So then you can hear people fighting on the roof of the house even or things outside if close enough. And yeah, primarily the economy would be run by the leaders and VIllage Council somewhat. They can affect certain things, including prices of items and such but they can really screw up the economy by not performing it properly. Making Kage not so much of a "OFFICIAL LOOK AT ME I'M STRONG" Job, but you also need to do somewhat work to keep your village safe-maintained and balanced. Including guards to protect it all the time. |

Meh... I still prefer tele houses D;... because open Houses take too much of the turf and they are probably usually uglier since they are bigger than tele houses... EDIT: And Am I the only one seeing this new white and red border, switch back to the old one pl0x ;o... |
